Pancheros Burrito Lift
A HAWKEYE TRADITION
“pumping it up” since 2007.
The Burrito Lift originated in 2007 when Pancheros and the staff at Learfield came together in search of a way to pair the awesomeness of a Pancheros Burrito with the greatness of Hawkeye fans.
What transpired were a lot of ideas that had heart, soul, and flavor—but when the song “Pump It Up” was played, everyone collectively raised the roof and knew they were onto something.
a tradition as sturdy as our burritos.
Our Burritos use fresh-pressed tortillas which seamlessly seal all the fresh ingredients that make up Burritos Better Built and are mixed to perfection.
The idea to “lift” a super-imposed burrito on the jumbotron quickly turned into a Hawkeye tradition, celebrated by fans and players alike. The tradition stands the test of time—just like our burritos stand tall in all their glory.
UNIVERSITY OF IOWA CAMPUS: OUR HOME.
We are proud to have opened our very first location right on the University of Iowa’s campus in August of 1992. Every fall, we welcome back the students with a $1 Burrito event that generates excitement about the upcoming semester while also celebrating all that it means to be a Hawkeye! We’re usually “pumping it up” in the process.
PROUD PARTNER OF THE IOWA HAWKEYES
Since the early 2000’s, Pancheros has been proud to partner with the University of Iowa Athletics Department and Hawkeye Sports Properties. Dubbed the “Official Burrito” of the Hawkeyes, it’s become a tradition to feed the sports teams, give back to organizations like Dance Marathon, and celebrate every gameday with the iconic Burrito Lift.
