Mixed Messages

A momentous occasion passed by on Thursday, April 1st.

The lovable little spatula named Bob, who is responsible for mixing up each and every burrito that crosses through our assembly line, turned two! For two whole years Bob has been hard at work mixing burritos and we thought it was only right to throw him a big birthday celebration to show how much we appreciate his work!

If you stopped into a participating Panchero's location on Thursday you might have seen the restaurant decked out with balloons, wrapping papper and maybe even birthday cake! We had a great time celebrating Bob's Birthday on Thursday and thought we would share some of those good times!

The people have spoken and the winner is in! We had a lot of great entries for Bob's birthday, but only one of them can be standing at the end as the winner.

Congratulations to Aaron Rosenberg for submitting his "remembering day one" card! It racked up the most votes on Facebook and is the winner!

They grow up so fast, don’t they? Seems like only yesterday he was mixing his first Panchero’s burrito.

Bob is a pretty special guy at Panchero’s. He is that little tool responsible for making sure you have every ingredient in every bite! So what I want to know is, how are you going to wish Bob a Happy 2nd Birthday?!

Will you sing him Happy Birthday?

Will you make Bob a Birthday card? (he’s turning two, remember)

Maybe you want to stand on the table in the break room at work and scream “HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB!!”

It’s up to you. But whatever you choose to do, we want to hear about it!

This contest is all about sharing, even the prizes! (no you don't have to share your prizes) If your entry is voted as the winner you will be taking home a DVD player and at LEAST a week (7) worth of free burritos. Why do I say at least? Because for every three entries submitted for this contest, I will throw in another day (1) of free burritos. So, the size of the prize is really up to you guys!

Here is how to enter:

It’s easy, just make a video, snap a picture or write a post. Then tell me about it! There are numerous ways to tell me; Pancheros is on Facebook, Twitter and we have our own Blog (it's what  you're reading right now). Once you have created your happy birthday masterpiece just tell me where to find it! Upload a twitpic or a twitvid, put a video on YouTube and send me the link! Post photos and videos to my Facebook fan wall. Any way you can think of to tell me about your masterpiece, I’m all ears.....and eyes.

Bonus point

You can submit more than once! Is your spirit just too much to contain in a single song?! Is a birthday card just not enough for you? I can respect that. Provided that your submissions are a different format (picture,video,text...etc) I will accept as many as you will give me.

So, here is all the dirty details

I will be accepting entries from March 1 - March 19 (5:00cst) The panchero’s employees will vote on what we consider to be the top 5 entries. Those entries will be posted online and you guys will have the chance to vote and decide who is taking home the DVD player and burrito cards. Voting will take place March 22 - March 31 (5:00cst) The winner will be announced on Bob’s Birthday, April 1st!

Last week we asked the owners and managers of Panchero's stores nationwide to help us celebrate the first birthday of Bob the Tool (if you're not familiar with Bob, check out some of the posts on this blog and learn what it means to "bob your burrito"). There were some employees out there that, well... REALLY got into it.

Bob also duels...

The balloons were ballooning, the cake was delicious, and the burritos, BOBBED. Thanks to everyone who came in and helped to celebrate Bob the Tool's first birthday yesterday. We hope you enjoyed the food and the freebies (to all of you that won them).

Tomorrow is the big day! We are celebrating the first birthday of Bob the Tool. If you've been into Panchero's before, you may have seen bob, the little spatula-like guy at the end of the serving line. He enjoys lazing away in stainless steel tubs but he really thrives on mixing it up (your burrito, that is). When you finish choosing all your yummy ingredients, just say "Bob my Burrito!" and watch him go to work.

Lucky Bob... he is a noun and a verb. Nobody "Joels" a burrito. at least not that I'm aware of.

So come celebrate with us and with Bob! If you come in tomorrow, April 1st, and say "Bob my Burrito!" you will get your soda (or "pop" for us strange folk who prefer the term) free with your meal. You might even be one of the lucky party people to get some free Bob party gear! Feeling lucky?

It should be a great time! No fooling! (forgive me for that one)

It's contest time. Bob the Tool is celebrating his birthday soon (April 1) and we're getting in the celebrating spirit. To help us prepare for this special day, we're looking to all of you for some creative storytelling. Who is Bob the Tool? What's his story? If you bumped into him on the street, what would he say, does he have an alter ego? We want to know what creative stories you have as an answer to those questions (because "a couple guys designed a piece of plastic and called it Bob" isn't nearly as exciting). So here's the deal: Until Friday, March 20th at noon, create your Bob story with any combination of text, pictures and video (blog it, post it to YouTube, go nuts!). Then post a link to your story in the comments of this post by noon the 13th. The highly critical (or wait... was it "easily entertained") minds here at Panchero's will narrow the submissions down to 5 entries. We'll post those 5 on Monday the 23rd and you will be able to vote for your favorite through the 27th. The winner will get two SEVEN free burritos (yes, that is a WEEK of free burritos) and a party gift from Bob's birthday bash! If you're quite the wordsmith, send us your pretty prose!

Bob is my best friend! He’s always there for me! When Chris and I broke up, Bob was there. When my puppy got hit by a car, Bob was there. When I got a new job and wanted to celebrate, again Bob was there! There’s something to be said for consistency. He knows just how to make everything better! Oh, and he can always make me laugh with the way he moves! Back and forth, shakin it! It is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen! Makes me smile! The other day when I was having lunch with Bob, he mentioned that he didn’t want to do anything for his birthday. He said he feels much older than he is, so celebrating will just remind him how young he is! I think that this party everyone’s throwing for him will be great! He may say he doesn’t want to do anything, but I know once those presents are out, and the balloons are up, he’ll smile and shake it better than anyone else!
